Steel Belts for Tape Casting |
Haiku Tech continuous stainless steel belts for high accuracy tape casting
Haiku Tech now offers replacement steel belts customized for tape casters of any make. The high accuracy belts are available as a continuous pre-welded belt with a superior weld finish. Alternatively, for longer belts, we offer a finished high accuracy steel strip for on-site welding in the machine. If you do not have the on-site welding capability we can arrange this for you. Using special tooling and welding equipment an experienced welder will achieve almost the same result on-site with respect to smoothness and weld thickness. You will hardly see a weld is there.
The quality of the belt determines the final results in tape casting. The choice of material and its hardness is very important. We typically use a martensitically hardened steel that receives a special treatment in our factory to increase smoothness, flatness, and remove stresses from the rolling process. The martensitic steel exhibits high strength, good heat conductivity, and most importantly a very high level of hardness and resistance against scratching. The material and its treatment have been optimized for proper release of the cast foils using regular binder materials. On the continuous belts we treat the weld area (after welding) using a specially developed process to restore the strength and smoothness in this area.
